Apple's reportedly developing an AI tool to write code for you
Apple is reportedly in the development phase of an artificial intelligence-powered tool aimed at assisting developers in crafting applications for its array of products, according to a recent report. This AI-powered tool will supposedly be integrated into the next major Xcode update.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this tool could arrive as early as 2024, potentially unveiled at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Details are still under wraps, but Gurman suggests the tool will draw inspiration from Microsoft's GitHub Copilot.
Imagine developers sketching out desired code functionalities in natural language and the AI whipping up functional snippets of working code! Testing code generation might also be on the table.
This move aligns with the surging trend of AI pervading technology. Recent breakthroughs like OpenAI's text-to-video creator and Google's next-gen language model showcase the power of AI. Tim Cook himself hinted at a major AI announcement later this year, and Xcode's AI makeover could be part of it.
