Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra tipped to get a camera update soon
While the Samsung Galaxy S24 series launched with some display and camera issues, Samsung has been working on improvements. The March update will supposedly bring an "underage mode" and some camera tweaks, but a bigger camera-focused update is expected in April.
This update, according to leakster Ice Universe, will target white balance and telephoto image quality. It's likely to arrive in late April or early May, following a minor update expected by the end of March.
This focus on camera improvements aligns with Samsung's usual strategy. Last year's S23 received a similar update in June, adding a 2x zoom for portrait mode. With the S24 launching earlier, its camera update might come sooner as well.
While the S24 Ultra boasts impressive hardware, software processing holds it back. Samsung opted for a more natural look this year, but reviewers found inconsistencies in white balance, exposure, and motion handling.
Based on past updates, don't expect this upcoming update to be a magic bullet. It should address some issues, but likely not all.
