Adobe Photoshop adds new generative AI features
Struggling to create eye-catching visuals? Don't have design experience? Adobe's AI is here to help! In a major update, Adobe is supercharging the generative artificial intelligence capabilities already in Photoshop's beta.
But that's not all! New features like "Reference Images" let you import a photo and use it as a guide for the AI, ensuring your creations perfectly match its colours, tones, and style.
This creative explosion is powered by the all-new Firefly Image 3 Foundation Model, also announced this week. "Through new Firefly-powered features in Photoshop, we are bringing ideation and creation closer together and making editing images both more powerful and approachable so everyone can, realize their creative vision," says Ashley Still, Senior Vice President at Adobe.
True to their names, the new tools offer a range of functionalities:
- Generate Image: Create an entirely new image based on your text description.
- Generate Similar: Produce variations on an existing image you provide.
- Generate Background: Effortlessly create a background that complements your image.
- Enhance Detail: Sharpen and refine the details in your photos.
Beyond AI, there are more exciting additions:
- Adjustment Brush: Make targeted, non-destructive adjustments to specific image areas.
- Enhanced Font Browser: Access a massive library of over 25,000 fonts directly in Photoshop, eliminating the need to search elsewhere.
- Adjustment Presets: Apply one-click adjustments for effortless image enhancement.
These features are available in the Photoshop AI beta today, with a wider release planned for later this year.
