OnePlus Nord 4 unveiled with metal unibody design and AI-powered features

Breaking away from the glass trend, the OnePlus Nord 4 boasts a sleek and durable metal unibody design. It's powered by the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, offering up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage for smooth performance and ample space.

The display is a stunning 6.74-inch Super Fluid AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1240p resolution, ensuring a clear and responsive viewing experience. A small punch hole discreetly houses the 16-megapixel selfie camera.

On the back, you'll find a versatile camera system featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS and EIS for sharp photos and stable videos (up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second). An 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor expands your capture possibilities.

The OnePlus Nord 4 packs a massive 5,500mAh battery with incredibly fast 100W wired charging, reaching 100% in under 30 minutes. However, a separate purchase of the proprietary adapter is required. Impressively, the battery is designed to retain at least 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles, easing concerns about rapid charging degradation.

OnePlus aimed for metal design from the start. So, the brand needed to come up with innovative antenna placement and internal pillars, minimizing size and enhancing signal strength.

The phone comes in three captivating colours in this new Nordtones design: Mercurial Silver, Oasis Green, and Obsidian Midnight.

The OnePlus Nord 4 is touted as the first international phone with an AI-powered midrange chipset. This translates to features like AI Audio Summary, AI Note Summary for efficient note-taking, and AI Linkboost for super-fast mobile network reconnection. There's even an AI Groupfie function that cleverly adjusts eyes in group shots for perfect pictures. OnePlus says it plans to add more AI features in the future.

Running OxygenOS 14.1 based on Android 14, the Nord 4 is future-proof with promises of four major Android updates and six years of security patches, ensuring support until 2030. It's the longest support OnePlus offers a Nord phone.

Starting at €499 (12GB/256GB) or roughly $744 in Canada, the OnePlus Nord 4 offers excellent value. Unfortunately, there's no confirmation of a Canadian release. However, you can get the new OnePlus Pad 2, OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, and OnePlus Watch 2R.
