Hershey's sweetens sustainability with Samsung collaboration

Chocolate giant Hershey's, known for its iconic treats, is making waves in sustainability. Despite being a beloved household name, the company generated a substantial 24,000 metric tons of waste in 2023. Now, Hershey's is partnering with Samsung to transform this challenge into an opportunity.

Through a collaborative effort, Hershey's plastic packaging waste is given a new life. Samsung is incorporating recycled materials from Hershey's into its stylish Samsung Friends lineup of phone, watch, and earbud accessories. This innovative partnership not only reduces waste but also creates unique and eco-conscious products.

Inspired by Hershey's iconic packaging, the Samsung Friends x Hershey's collection features 12 distinct designs for the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Watch7, and Galaxy Buds3 series. The collection launched in South Korea on July 29, 2024, and will soon be available in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the United States.

To celebrate the launch, Samsung is hosting a Hershey's pop-up at its Gangnam store until August 11, 2024. Customers can experience the eco-friendly accessories firsthand, customize their designs, and enjoy limited-edition Hershey's chocolate beverages.

While pricing details are yet to be released, this partnership marks a significant step towards a more sustainable future for both companies.
