TCL's NXTFrame joins the art TV competition
Samsung's Frame TV pioneered the art-inspired television market several years ago, and now the trend is gaining momentum. TCL's newly unveiled 4K QLED NXTFrame TV is the latest entrant, offering familiar features like a magnetic wooden frame, flush-mount design, anti-glare display, and extensive art mode options.
Joining the fray are other contenders such as Hisense's CanvasTV and LG's Posé and Easel models, all aiming to blend television with home decor seamlessly. While third-party accessories like the Leon Studio Frame have emerged for existing TVs, integrated solutions remained scarce until recently.
TCL's NXTFrame is available in 55-, 65-, and 75-inch models (starting at US$1,500 or around CA$2,064) and an 85-inch version launching in September for US$4,000 (~CA$5,503).
These prices align with Samsung's Frame TV, although Samsung's 55-inch model is slightly cheaper at $1,300. While TCL includes a magnetic frame, the current single light wood option is limited compared to Samsung's variety and third-party offerings. TCL offers a more expensive NXTFrame Pro option if you want one with better audio and tech.
As the market expands, we can expect more brands to introduce their own canvas-style TVs, driving innovation in design and features.
