Swippitt and go: This two-second charger could revolutionize your phone life?

Video: Swippitt

CES 2025 brought us a truly bizarre yet intriguing invention: the Swippitt, a device that can fully charge your phone in a mere two seconds. How? By swapping out your phone's battery with a fully charged one.

To use it, you need a special phone case (the Link) that houses a battery and the Swippitt Hub itself. The Hub, resembling a futuristic tissue box, holds five batteries and can be swapped out with lightning speed. Simply slot your phone into the Hub, and two seconds later, it pops out fully charged.

While undeniably impressive, the Swippitt comes at a premium. The Hub costs US$450 (around CA$648), and each Link case is US$120 (~CA$173). This steep price tag raises the question: Is this revolutionary technology worth the investment, or are you better off sticking with traditional portable chargers?

The Swippitt is available for pre-order now, offering a glimpse into the future of fast charging.
