OpenAI debuts Operator AI assistant for online tasks

Image: OpenAI

OpenAI introduced Operator, an artificial intelligence program designed to automate online tasks like ordering items and filling out forms. Operator interacts with websites similarly to humans, typing, clicking, and scrolling to complete assigned tasks.

This AI agent, a growing trend in Silicon Valley, can handle different online activities, from ordering groceries to creating memes. By automating repetitive tasks, Operator aims to save users time and open new possibilities for businesses.

Operator is currently available to U.S. users with OpenAI Pro subscriptions. While still under development, Operator is designed to self-correct and request user assistance when needed.
