Report: Amazon makes last-minute bid for TikTok

Amazon has reportedly submitted a last-minute bid to buy TikTok. This rumoured proposal comes as the social media site faces an April 5th deadline for its Chinese parent company ByteDance to divest its ownership to avoid a ban in the US. However, The New York Times reports that the parties involved in the deal don't seem to be taking the online retailer's bid seriously. Other rumoured parties interested in buying or investing in TikTok include Oracle and Blackstone.
