Microsoft unveils Windows Phone 7 Series, available end of 2010

Microsoft recently revealed the new direction it is taking with its smartphone operating system. Launched by CEO Steve Ballmer at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain- Windows Phone 7 Series is the company's latest answer to Apple's iPhone OS, Palm's WebOS, Google's Android and Blackberry mobile OS. CIBC first in Canada to bring mobile banking to iPhone

CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) recently released the first mobile banking application for the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

CIBC’s Mobile Banking App is now available for free from the Apple App Store, offering greater flexibility and choice for CIBC clients to bank on the go by becoming the first major bank in Canada to offer a mobile banking App for iPhone. The App gives CIBC clients the flexibility to use their iPhone or iPod touch to check account balances, transfer funds, pay bills and even send INTERAC Email Money Transfers.

Canadians spent more than $4.66 billion on tech products in 2009

According to leading market research company The NPD Group, Canadians spent more than $4.66 billion on computer and information technology products in 2009, up one percent from the $4.61 billion spent in 2008.  The modest annual growth was fuelled by an exceptionally strong fourth quarter, which saw eight percent year-over-year growth across all product categories.
