Microsoft teases HoloLens reveal at tomorrows's device launch event

While expected to be a launch event for the Surface Pro 4, new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL devices plus updated notebooks. It seems tomorrow's Microsoft Fall launch event in NYC will also involve some Hololens announcements. Considered by many Windows watchers to still be two-years away from actual commercial production (the early prototype shown was strapped to a massive battery and remote processors), HoloLens migth be farther along than we all thought. The augment reality headset integrates real world surroundings with high-resolution projections (i.e. Minecraft constructs on your living room set).

HoloLens is the one undeniable innovation Microsoft has that's exciting and full of possibilities not just in computing but in gaming, pratical training, education and even mission critical applications. Everyone wants to know where Microsoft is with this exciting product. The event kicks off at Tuesday October 6, at 10.00 AM Eastern time and will be viewable on Xbox devices at www.microsoft.com/october2015event

Free Microsoft course teaches newbies to code Windows 10 apps

Microsoft needs developers to create apps for their platform. What better way to encourage them but through free tutorials that even “absolute beginners” can do. This series of video lessons teaches you to make Universal Windows Platform apps that can work on different devices like PCs, phones, tablets, HoloLens, Xbox, and Raspberry Pi. The lessons extend up to when you submit an app to the Windows Store.

To get started, Microsoft encourages you to have basic grasp of coding in C# so best check out the C# Fundamentals first. And then you can take the two-part course. You’ll first learn the basics to make a simple app and then create four full-fledged apps: a soundboard to play funny sounds, a weather app, an album cover matching game, and an encyclopedia of Marvel characters with Cortana integration.
