Evernote releases Touch Bar specific functionality on MacBook Pros

The malleable Touch Bar feature on recent MacBook Pros is actually a new platform for app developers to extend the functionality of the app and push various features forward.

Evernote has unveiled new functionality that allows easy creation of notes, quick access to search, tagging, access various colours, and give feedback.

"In some ways, the Touch Bar is a sleeker, more stylish take on the soft buttons seen on screen-based devices, like mobile phones and cash machines. In other ways, the Touch Bar is more like your favorite keyboard shortcuts that you won’t need to memorize," Evernote explains. Good to see developers making use of the feature.

Windows 10 Creators Update is now available

Microsoft's

Microsoft's first big update to Windows 10 this year, the Creators Update is now starting to hit compatible Windows PCs or can be enabled using the Update Assistant.

Featuring a number of new features and improvements skewed towards creatives and designers, Creators Update is the first of two large system updates happening this year with the Redstone 3 update expected in Fall. I've just installed the update on my Surface Book and while there aren't any visibly dramatic changes, there are various subtleties that I'll need a few days to take note of.

As with any major system upgrade, there are a number of things to consider. If you use your PC for work or for anything of a critical nature, you may want to hold off until all the drivers and apps have been updated to work with the new OS. Also, it is strongly advised that you backup your files and system before heading off into your update. Creator's Update will trickle as an option on compatible devices in the coming months.

Review: Fitbit Alta HR

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Fitbit's most impressive fitness tracker isn't the biggest or the one with the most features, but a perfect mix of reliable activity and sleep tracking, ease of use and a refined design.

With the Fitbit Alta HR, we see the slimming down of the now familiar form factor of the Fitbit Charge 2 as well as the appearance of the heart-rate monitor on one of the smallest bracelets we've seen.
