343 Industries aims to release co-op campaign of 'Halo Infinite' in August

Source: 343 Industries

We have a new timeline after numerous delays for Halo Infinite's co-op campaign. 343 Industries hopes to release the feature sometime in August 2022. It was initially scheduled to arrive with the December 8 release date. This August schedule is meant for networking co-op, while split-screen co-op is expected to come later.

According to 343's roadmap, the couch co-op option won't be available until sometime in season 3, which isn't scheduled to start until November 8. But as Engadget pointed out, this is still a tentative plan, with the exact release date still marked as "TBD."

Wolverine launches 'Halo'-inspired boots

Source: Wolverine

Here are a pair of boots Halo fans will love. Wolverine teamed up with Microsoft to create rugged footwear inspired by Master Chief. The company will only make 117 pairs of this limited-edition footwear. Halo developer 343 Industries worked with Wolverine for over a year to perfect the design inspired by the brand's Hellcat footwear.

The Wolverine x Halo: The Master Chief boot gets rubber lug outsoles for grip, UltraSpring high rebound midsole, full-grain leather, and hook and loop cover for the laces. It comes in Master Chief green with his Spartan number, 117, on the left boot's heel. It also has the logo of the Materials Group, which made Master Chief's armour. A pair goes for US$225 (roughly CA$280 converted) and will be available at noon Eastern time on March 29 on Wolverine's website.

Microsoft used Xbox dev kits for a 'Halo Infinite' tournament

Photo by Billy Freeman on Unsplash

The ongoing Xbox shortage hasn't just affected consumers; even Microsoft itself had run into issues because of it. This weekend, the company reportedly used Xbox Series X dev kits to run its first big Halo Infinite tournament, the Halo Championship Series' Raleigh Major. Microsoft couldn't get enough retail consoles to use.

But, according to 343 Industries' esports lead Tahir Hasandjekic, the dev kits are "functionally identical" to off-the-shelf consoles and would operate in that mode. They won't look like the competitors' consoles at home, but they should function the same. In the simplest terms to describe the situation, Hasandjekic said, the "global supply chain shortage is real."

Exploring the world of Halo Infinite

As parents of teens, we know that gaming is one of the most popular pastimes. In our home, we instilled a "no play until homework is done" policy when the kids were very young. Luckily, that has stuck. As a gamer myself, I know how quickly time can pass once you get emerged into the play. That goes for any game. Even to this day I play about a half an hour of games on my devices right at bedtime. Somehow, I manage to sleep very well. I know, I know, it's not suppose to work like that. But maybe it's the type of games you play?  It's a way to wind down the day and clear my mind, maybe?
