YouTube tests out picture-in-picture mode on iOS

YouTube has finally brought picture-in-picture to iOS, sort of. The app is testing out the feature on a few users. But, at the moment, it's just limited to YouTube Premium users. When you have it enabled, it works the same with other apps that support picture-in-picture. You can play a video and then close the app to continue watching the clip on a smaller window. Google hasn't said when the feature will roll out to all its iOS users.

New iOS update gets rid of green tint on some iPhone 11 devices

A month after Apple released version 13.6 update for iOS and iPadOS comes version 13.6.1, which fixes some issues on the platforms, including a green tint that's been appearing on some iPhone 11 devices. The cause is reportedly a thermal management issue and triggered by an earlier update (likely iOS 13.4). The update resolves a problem that disabled Exposure Notifications for some users. It also got rid of the issue where unneeded system data files weren't automatically deleted when available storage is low.

The update size is 110MB, and it should be available through Settings > General > Software Update, or a notification for the update has been sent your way. This iOS 13 update might be the last one we'll see as Apple is expected to drop iOS 14 next month.

iOS 14 can turn your iPhone into a car key

iOS 14 offers a lot of new features for users to take advantage of, but we haven't mentioned the automotive and mobility features the mobile platform offers. Apple is also improving Apple Maps and CarPlay experience with this new version of its operating system.

One of the more notable additions is turning your iPhone into your car's key with the aptly named Car Key. The feature is coming in the fall, with support for iOS 13 as well. It'll first work with the new 2021 BMW 5-Series, with other vehicles and automakers expected to support the feature next year.
