‘iWatch’ tipped to get its own app store

The rumour mill keeps turning and they seem to be convinced that Apple will be unveiling its new “iWatch” wearable at its upcoming September 9th event. A new report has surfaced stating the iWatch will have its own App Store and will be able to run third-party applications. According to 9to5mac.com, reports say that a handful of high-profile social network and services have been seeded pre-release version of the iWatch SDK, with Facebook being one of them. Of course, we have to take everything with a grain of salt still but until September 9 comes and goes, we’re pretty sure people will keep talking about this heavily rumoured wearable.

Apple patent shows off potential features of ‘iTime’ smartwatch

The tech world has been calling Apple’s much-rumoured smartwatch “iWatch.”  Now, a new patent granted to the company by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office calls the device as “iTime” and reveals some of the features we might see from Apple’s wearable device. The smartwatch will reportedly support arm and wrist gestures with a sensor-filled strap, meaning you can flick your wrist to answer a call or something. The device itself can also be taken out of the strap (much like how the iPod nano can be attached and taken out of its strap). It will have a square-shaped design and have accelerometers, GPS modules, haptic feedback, and Wi-Fi radios.  We’re not sure if this will be what Apple’s wearable device will be like or when it will come out but we will keep you posted on any significant update.

Rumoured release for the Apple iWatch set in October

iWatch concept by Belm Designs

The rumour mill for Apple’s iWatch, the company’s supposed entry into the wearable device market, just keeps churning. This time around Reuters reports that Apple has hired Quanta to begin mass production of the device next month for a launch that could happen on October.

The iWatch will reportedly feature a 2.5-inch display and will have the watch’s face slightly protrude from the band to create an arched shape of sorts. It will supposedly feature wireless charging capabilities and a touch interface. Apple has never publicly acknowledge the arrival of this said device but pundits have been saying that this smartwatch has been in the works in a while. And we are still waiting on Tim Cook’s promise that they will be introducing “exciting” new products.
