BlackBerry 10 to launch on January 30, 2013

We finally have a date for one of the most anticipated smartphone releases. The launch of Research In Motion's BlackBerry 10 OS and devices will be on January 30, 2013. RIM expects to have a sizeable number of apps to get new users up and running. This is very exciting news and I am happy that RIM has committed to a date and is working towards that target. It is evident that BB10 is designed more around work and lifestyle than previous BlackBerry products so it should be interesting to see how RIM meets needs in those areas.

The promise? "BlackBerry 10 will offer a large catalog of the leading applications from across the globe and across all categories, including Games, Productivity, Social, Lifestyle and Leisure, Multimedia and Published Content, as well as applications designed for business and enterprise use." We sure hope so. Hit jump for more details from RIM's official press release.
