Review: Fitbit Flyer

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Fitbit has created a sporty Bluetooth headset to accompany its Fitbit Ionic smartwatch.

Being the first audio product from Fitbit, I had some reservations about the Flyer and wondered about things like fit, finish and sound quality.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Fitbit Flyer fit me right out of the box without me needing to attach any of the included rubber earpieces. Not only did it fit well, I found that I didn’t suffer stress or pain wearing it for a prolonged period of time.

I’ve tested a lot of these Bluetooth headphones and fit has always been a sticking point. So far, the Jabra Coach headphones have been the best I’ve tried in terms of comfort and sound, but the Fitbit Flyer fits better and I can wear them for a longer period of time because they're comfortable and because they last longer.

Android might soon display battery levels of Bluetooth devices

If you use an LG, Samsung, or even OnePlus device, this feature isn’t news. But for those who use other Android phones, a new feature is coming to your devices. Google is planning to add support to display battery information for Bluetooth devices. A report from XDA-Developers says the feature will be in an API that would be part of a future version of Android. Google has added a new “method” it calls “getBatteryLevel()” as part of the “BluetoothDevice” class. This means you’ll get to see the battery level percentage of a supported Bluetooth device.

Review: Sudio Regent Bluetooth headphones

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Swedish headphone makers Sudio may not be the first brand to come to mind when considering over-the-ear headphones but their Regent line offers great sound and clarity as well as smart Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and 24 hours of playback on a charge.

I'm very particular about headphones, specially over the-ear-models where fit is a huge factor for me. I travel a lot, I need a compact set that's durable and easy to pack and which can isolate me from cabin noise, other passengers and also serve to provide music and video audio. Other features that will appeal to travellers, the Sudio Regents can be quick charged in 10 minutes which will yield at least four hours of use. Full charge takes two hours.
