CES 2016: Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 family revealed

Few PC manufacturers can iterate and refine their products on a steady and regular basis the way that Lenovo has for its ThinkPad line. The X1 series is all about power and portability with the flagship being the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, regarded by many to be the best notebook PC at its price point.

This year at CES, Lenovo is flexing some serious muscle, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is now the world’s lightest 14-inch business ultrabook at just 2.6 pounds (previous version was over 3 pounds). The new flagship is faster and thinner but also drops the multi-touch feature on the display. Check out the video above to see what this new flagship notebook has to offer.

CES 2016: Samsung outs soundbar packed with Dolby Atmos

Samsung is bringing the cinema experience to your home with its first soundbar equipped with Dolby “overhead surround” system. The HW-K950 will give you the cinema experience as it throw noises to you overhead, giving you the illusion that a helicopter is indeed flying over you, among other things.

With Dolby Atmos, you usually need a lot speakers but Samsung pares that down with this unit. The HW-K950 itself is 2.1-inches high and has three forward-facing and two upwards-facing drivers. This pairs wirelessly with a subwoofer and rear speakers to give you that full 5.1.4-channel audio. Samsung also revamped its Wireless Audio 360 Series (R1, R3, and R5) with new colors and patterns.

CES 2016: Alcatel OneTouch to debut Windows 10 tablet

It’s not a secret that Alcatel OneTouch’s main focus has been Android phones. But they seem to want to give Windows a chance with a new Windows 10 Mobile tablet. Called the PIXI 3, it’ll be the brand’s first Windows device. The PIXI 3 will be coming to CES and what we know so far is it’s an 8-inch device that will have GPS, a TV remote control, and voice call support. It’ll have a Qualcomm chipset to support 4G connectivity. This will carry an “entry level” design, which means it won’t cost you much to own one of these. No word at the moment about price and when or where it will ship.
