Lenovo's Smart Paper is its Kindle Scribe competitor

Source: Lenovo

Lenovo is taking on the Kindle Scribe with its own e-ink tablet, the Smart Paper. This slate features a 10.3-inch display and supports a pen you don't need to charge. The Smart Paper can detect when you're tilting the stylus and has 4,096 levels of pressure.

The screen on the Smart Paper isn't as pixel-dense as the Kindle Scribe's, but it should be high-res enough for both reading and writing at 1,872 x 1,404. It also has front lighting with adjustable colour and can record audio while writing with a pen. This feature will come in handy if you're keeping track of a meeting or class or are just the type to hash out your thoughts by talking.

JBL made 'eco-friendly' versions of its Go and Clip speakers

Source: JBL

JBL introduces the new versions of its portable Bluetooth speakers at CES 2023. A couple of them get environmentally friendly versions. The new JBL Go 3 Eco and JBL Clip 4 Eco will be launching on Earth Day (April 22) for US$50 and US$80, respectively. These variants use 90 Post-Consumer Recycled plastic for their mechanical construction and 100% recycled fabric for their speaker grilles. Even the packaging for both speakers is environmentally safe, using FSC-certified paper and soy ink.

Aside from their environmental slant, the rest of their specs are similar to the original models. The Go 3 features a rounded rectangular design with five hours of playback. Meanwhile, the Clip 4 comes with a built-in carabiner and up to 10 hours of use. Both models include IP67 water and dust resistance, making them handy outdoor accessories.

TCL introduces NXTPAPER 12 Pro

Source: TCL

TCL updates its NXTPAPER Android tablet range with the new NXTPAPER 12 Pro. This new slate with a paper-like display features improved display technology on its 12.2-inch 2K screen. It now reduces blue light output by 61%, is 100% brighter than before, and has better contrast. TCL addressed the criticisms against the NXTPAPER 10s, which some said had low brightness and muted colours.

Of course, it supports the TCL E-Pen, allowing you to draw or write on the screen. The stylus detects up to 8,192 levels of pressure.

Roku plans to release TVs this year

Source: Roku

It seems like a natural transition, but it hasn't happened since now. Roku shared its news at CES 2023 about its plans to launch its line of televisions this year. There will be two lines. One is called Roku Select, while the higher-end models will get the Roku Plus TVs brand. According to the company, there will be 11 models, ranging from 24 inches to 75 inches. The 24-inch will cost US$119 (around CA$160), while the 75-inch goes for US$999 (~CA$1,350).

The entry-level Roku Select models will come with the standard Roku Voice Remote, while the Plus series gets its Voice Remote Pro with hands-free voice commands and a rechargeable battery. Roku isn't getting into the technical details of these TVs yet, but we're sure to hear more about them soon.
