Dubuc Motors promises 2017 release for its all-electric supercar
Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 6:27PM Quebec-based Dubuc Motor first showed off its futuristic Tomahawk concept back in 2013. Now, it’s getting closer to production as the North American brand promises its first release next year. The new Tomahawk ditches the two-seat, mid-engine configuration for a four-seater with both front and rear electric motors with all-wheel drive. But it still keeps that aggressive look, complete with scissor-style doors.
According to Dubuc engineers, the planned top speed for the all-electric car is around 160mph with it being capable of 0-60mph in three seconds. No word on the powertrain yet but with the flat undercarriage of the EV, its battery layout could be distributed along the floor. The goal for the battery is a 300-mile range. Dubuc says they’ve started to show off the Tomahawk at auto shows. It carries a US$110,000 price tag and early buyers can make a $5,000 deposit to reserve one of the first models to come out in 2017.
