Tesla readies to unveil revolutionary electric semi truck platform

Tesla is moving from electric cars to semi-trucks. The company who started by building expensive electric roadsters for Silicon Valley millionaires has expanded into road cards, SUVs and even a more consumer friendly sedan. Now it is setting its sight on large transport trucks or semis, with an unveiling happening tomorrow.

Runour has it we're looking at an electric truck with a 300 mile range (on a full charge) and which could have some autonomous driving features. An interesting proposition for an area in automotive transport that's remained unchanged for decades.

While tradtional car companies are scrambling to compete in electric vehicles, Tesla's confident enough to try and mark new territory with their semi platform.

See the VW I.D. Buzz Microbus drive around at Pebble Beach

We've already heard the rumour that the VW I.D. Buzz Microbus EV concept will be put into production for a 2022 rollout and while the concept vehicle brought a huge nostalgia factor to visitors to past car shows, this is the first time we're seeing the VW I.D. Buzz Microbus in its natural habitat, the Californian shores. A video shared to Facebook by David Bernardo shows the EV driving along with classic VW's. Seeing a concept car actually running gives us hope that it is on its way to production.

2018 Nissan Leaf render teases what's to come for the popular EV

With 277,000 units sold so far, its hard to argue that the Nissan Leaf isn't the best-selling EV in the world. The previous model looked more a like a proof of concept prototype rather than a production vehicle but many Leaf owners loved their cars just the same, not just for the savings in energy the car offers but because of its fun and quirky personality.

Renders of the 2018 Nissan Leaf show a completely redesigned and more aggressive stance with sleeker lines and a more futuristic profile. The upcoming Nissan Leaf looks amazing and will reportedly have a prototype with a range of 165 miles (265 kilometers), which isn't only an improvement over its predecessor, it puts it right in the mix with the 2017 Chevy Bolt and Tesla's new Model 3.

First Chevrolet Bolt EV deliveries taking place in Toronto

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Toronto, ON - The electric vehicle revolution in Canada took a big step forward today as Samantha Mesrobian, one of the first Toronto customers, received the highly anticipated Bolt EV. Trading her Land Rover LR2 SUV for one of the first three Chevrolet Bolt EVs to be made available to Canada, Mesrobian cited a need to try something different

"I drive five or six kilometers a day to the GO Train station, but my mother lives outside of Guelph and my son in in school in Ottawa," Mesrobian said when asked what her commute is like. She will install a fast charger at her house and he's already researched the charger options along her usual drives. With the Bolt EVs projected 383 KM range, she's confident that she will not suffer from range anxiety.
