ZTE’s Axon isn’t just a beast in budget sheep’s clothing, it is one of the truly delightful smartphones to come to market in Canada this year. The directive was simple, ‘build an affordable smartphone with flagship features,” and ZTE has delivered on this promise.

Best thing about the ZTE Axon is that it is its own device. There’s no trace of trying to be trendy or copping designs or even materials from more familiar and popular models. With the Axon, ZTE reminds me of when smartphone makers didn’t play it safe and really designed and built fun, powerful and innovative devices for the love of it. Could ZTE be the new Nokia?

Rogers is teaming up with Spotify to give Fido customers 24 months of free music streaming service on their smartphones and tablets. This exclusive agreement will give Fido customers a free 24-month subscription to Spotify Premium.

With over 30 million songs, amazing artists and personalized playlists, Spotify Premium is the ultimate, all access ticket to music.

Nokia's Lumia 830 now available across Canada

The latest Windows Phone device from Microsoft is now available in Canada from Rogers, Fido, TELUS and Bell. The Lumia 830 is being touted as the "Affordable Flagship" since it brings the premium build and materials of earlier devices like the Nokia Icon and the Lumia 930 (not available in Canada) to a device with midrange processor and camera specifications. Running on the latest 'Denim' build of Windows Phone 8.1, which features various enhancements including faster camera software. The Lumia 830 is the first device to officially ship with all the new features including an 'alpha' version of the Cortana personal assistant. Expect a review once we get a device to test. Rogers & Fido now carry HTC Desire 510

If you’ve been eyeing the HTC Desire 510, you can now get the device through Rogers & Fido. It will be available for $0 on select two-year Share Everything plans on Rogers, while it will also be available for $0 with a two-ear Tab24 agreement on a Smart plan with Fido. It will be offered in grey and white, with the white version being a Rogers & Fido exclusive.

The entry-level Desire 510 is the first 64-bit device from HTC. It is powered by four Cortex-A53, improved Adreno 306 GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip, and Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0. It has a 4.7-inch 854x480 resolution display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB expandable storage, 2100mAh battery, LTE capability, and 5-megapixel rear shooter.
