Since my initial review, I’ve had a second chance to use the Canadian variant of the LG G4 and I made this device my daily driver and relied on it for work and personal use. It was then that I quickly started to reconsider my initial impressions of the LG G4. There was more to this device than I had originally discerned.
First impressions, they don’t always stick, that’s true with some people as well as with some smartphones.
When I first looked at the LG G4, I have to admit that I found it iterative and unremarkable. There’s a precedent to this, aside from the impression that not much changed in terms of design and materials from its predecessors, I was still starry eyed from seeing what the competition had to offer. With a major move to stainless steel, aluminum, glass and in some cases bamboo and leather, the premise behind the LG G4 seemed lacking by comparison.
The much awaited Ascend P6 from up and coming smartphone giant Huawei is now available in Canada from Wind Mobile. Available in black, the Ascend P6 is available from Wind for $399. It features Huawei’s proprietary Emotion UI. The smartphone features a 1.5GHz quad-core K3V2E processor and a sleek metallic body, along with a 4.7-inch high definition in-cell display and industry-leading 5MP front-facing camera.
“Our handset business continues to build momentum in Canada and around the world, and as a result we’re able to introduce great, cutting-edge devices like the Ascend P6 to Canadian wireless users,” said Huawei Canada President Sean Yang.

The Atrix line for Motorola has remained as its flagship smartphone offering for close to three years now. It was the first model to feature dual-core processors and was said to be powerful enough to power the LapDock and HDMI desktop base station. The Atrix HD is available from Bell for $49.95 on a three year contract and $600 is the no contract price.
