Google finally swaps Currents for Google Play Newsstand on iOS

It’s been available on Android devices since November 2013 and now Google is making the newsreader switch from Currents to Play Newsstand on iOS. You will be able to see Material Design influences on the app with cleaner design, cards layout, animations, typefaces, and color-coded tabs. It shows news under different sections such as Highlights, News, Business, Technology, Sports, etc. You can also handpick specific publications you want to follow. Those you visit a lot will show up in your Highlights tab more. The app also greys out the articles you have read and warns you about paywalled sites.
