Is your Google Discover page showing older news?
While that might be surprising to you, Google Discover is designed to "help you uncover fresh and interesting content about things that matter to you." And as 9to5Google points out, the company has been surfacing evergreen articles since September 2018. These are "articles and videos that aren't new to the web, but are new to you." These include everything from longer pieces, explainers, guides, and reviews.
But it seems more users notice that older news is surfacing for them, and they're not happy about this. It shows how some use Discover to stay updated on their interests and current events, so they aren't pleased that the feed "stopped showing recent news." Perhaps it's a Google experiment, or the company wants to keep Discover true to its vision. Maybe they're even using this as an opportunity for you to use Google News. We don't know yet. But we'd like to know how you use Google Discover; let us know in the comments.
