Google gives away 1TB of Drive storage for Chromebook purchases

If you’ve been considering getting a Chromebook, now would be a good time to get one. Google is offering Chromebook buyers—whether it be in-store, through Google Play, or online—1TB of storage for the next two years. This will come in handy if you have tons of files stored in the cloud and it will help save you around US$240 for the next two years. But of course, you will have to pay $10 a month after that. The promo ends on January 1, 2015 so you have over a month to decide whether the Chromebook is for you.

Google adds shareable link to Drive

Google just included a new way to share Drive links to others. With the new update, you don’t need to specify the email address of the person you’re sharing the files to. This time you get the option to get the URL to share the file. It will be view-only by default but you can also change that to allow for editing. Of course, this also comes with a risk. Anyone with access to the link can then edit the file if they want to. It’s best to just share this with people you trust. The update is rolling out as we speak so it might take a few days or so before it gets to your accounts.
