A new yet-to-be-released Google file management app helps keep your phone clutter free

It might come this week, in the next month, or somewhere down the line, but Google seems to have a new app it’s working on to help you manage the mess of files you have on your phone. We all know how files can wreak havoc later on when it comes to your phone’s performance. The app called Google Files Go has shown up on the Play Store but as Android Authority reports, you can’t just yet. A message says the app is part of an early access program that’s currently full. The screenshots above show what you can do with it though. It can do things like suggest apps to delete in case you haven’t used them for a while.  It’ll also help you find duplicate files or images stored on your phone as well as view all your files and filter these by source.

On top of that, the app is also making it easier to transfer files to someone else’s phone even while offline. It seems Google Files Go is part of the company’s Android Go program, which is designed to offer the Android experience to phones with as low as 512MB RAM and those with little onboard storage. It makes sense that this feature will be made available to them. Again, we don’t know anything past these features and there is also the possibility that only Android Go devices will gain access to it. We just now have to wait and see.
