Google Pixel update introduces digital car key enhancements for Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7 Pro

Another notable addition to Google's latest round of Pixel feature drop will make some BMW drivers happy. The update allows Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro owners to use ultra-wideband technology for their digital car keys. This will let you unlock or lock a compatible car or even start your engine with it without taking your Pixel out of your pocket. The compatible vehicles, in this case, are "select 2022+ BMW models." Right now, the existing digital car key feature uses NFC. And that still requires you to hold up your phone near your car door handle. This new feature is expected to land in the coming weeks.

Google improves Night Sight for Pixel 6 series

One of the upgrades included in the latest Pixel feature drop will come in handy for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users. The smartphones are inheriting the Pixel 7's improved Night Sight. This will make the feature run a couple of seconds faster than it has before. It might not seem much, but that will make it easier to capture photos in low-light situations. The improvement is possible thanks to "new algorithms powered by Google Tensor."

Netflix officially lists HDR support for Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 5A

If you wanted to watch HDR or HD content on Netflix on some of the newer Pixel devices, your wait is over. The streaming service has officially added the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and the 5A to its list of devices that support HDR and HD streaming. The update to its support pages seems to have happened sometime after January 14.

It isn't clear why Netflix hasn't added the Pixel 6 lineup to these lists earlier. But The Verge noted that some users were reporting on Reddit that their phones couldn't play HDR content properly, while it worked fine for others. Perhaps that was a problem they wanted to address first. Hopefully, it works fine for everyone now.
