Google adds video game panel in search

You were only able to find out about music, TV shows, movies and like when using Google Search. Now, Google has updated its Knowledge Graph to show video game information as well. It includes things such as what series the game belongs to, initial released date, developers, publishers, designers, supported platforms, as well as review scores. Knowledge Graph is used by Google to map out real world objects, landmarks, and famous people. So, now if you want to find out more information about the games you are playing or want to play, Google is making it easier for you to find these things out.

Google Voice Search adds multi-language support

When doing multi-language Voice Search before, Google would need you to change the language settings. Now, they are rolling out an update that will support multiple languages. The latest version of Google Search (version 3.6) should be up on Play Store. To activate this feature, you just need to head to the Settings menu and then select Search & Now > Voice > Languages. You can then pick up to five languages you want Google Search to understand. But Android Police points out there are still shortcomings with the update, including the lose of "Ok Google" detection. Hopefully they fix that soon.

Google Now Launcher available for other Android devices

Google is making its Nexus 5 launcher available for other Android-powered devices, with a few conditions. The Google Now Launcher was initially available with the Nexus 5 and then with other Nexus and Google Play Edition devices. Now, Android users with devices running on version 4.1 or higher will gain access to the launcher. You just have to make sure you are running the latest version of the Google Search app.

The launcher will change your homescreen to look identical to that of the Nexus 5 when it first launched. You will gain access to the “Ok, Google” voice command, new wallpapers, as well as the ability to see all your cards just by swiping to the right from your home screen.

Google uses your hotel confirmation to help you navigate like a local with Search

Google Search has boosted the capabilities of its Search app further with this new feature. While traveling, you can look for places to eat near your hotel by asking Search to “show me restaurants around my hotel.” What you would need to do is have your hotel confirmation saved in your Gmail to gain access to this feature. You can even Search to look for directions from, for example, the airport to your hotel.
