5 years in the making and expected to take car racing simulation on consoles to the next level, Gran Turismo 5 is a behemoth title replete with hyper-realistic visuals, a jaw-dropping selection of 1,031 cars, 71 different racetracks all painstakingly detailed to the micro-polygon level. Selling 423,000 copies per day for a whopping 5.5 million units sold in its first 13 days, GT5 is the best-selling video game for the PS3 and a solid contender for game of the year. Gran Turismo franchise sales exceed 60 Million units worldwide

The much awaited (5 years in the making) Gran Turismo 5 racing simulator was expected to be the pinnacle of motoring sports games but it is also a feather in Sony's cap as it celebrates the sale of 60 million units since Gran Turismo debuted in 1997.
