Apple readies to roll out HealthKit solution to Medical Professionals in U.S.

Apple has started rolling out its HealthKit solution to medical professionals in the U.S. by setting up collabortions with major medical centers like Mount Sinai, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and Allscripts to use the new system.

The Health app and Healthkit development kit are part of the improvements coming to iOS 8 this fall. Ideal for tracking patient's data like blood pressure, pulse, and weight, HealthKit can revolutionize patient monitoring and care and possibly even alert healthcare professionals if a sudden or unexpected drop in patient's vitals is recorded. The Health app integrates information captured by various sensors in wearable devices and silos them into one dashboard. Launched at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, Health and HealtKit are two technologies that have led many to believe that Apple is developing its own wearable device.
