Huawei’s Honor sub-brand outs what looks like a cheaper Huawei P20
It might seem like Huawei is cannibalizing itself through its sub-brand Honor. But if the prices of the new Huawei P20 are a bit too steep for you, Honor is an option you might want to check out. The Honor 10 brings a lot of the features of the P20 to the more budget-conscious user. It sports the same Kirin 970 octa-core processor, up to 6GB of RAM (the P20 only has 4GB of RAM), 128GB internal storage, and fast-charging 3,400mAh battery. It gets a 24-megapixel selfie camera, too. Where it differs with the P20 is in the dual rear camera setup. This features a 16-megapixel sensor paired with a 24-megapixel monochrome sensor. The P20 comes with the Leica-engineered 12-megapixel/20-megapixel combo.
It even has this shifting colored rear panel similar to the P20 Pro but Honor calls its version Phantom Blue. You get a notched LCD display on the Honor 10 as well and it’s a bit larger than the P20’s at 5.84 inches. You also get a fingerprint sensor on the chin of the phone. Pricing is the biggest differentiator here. The prices of the Honor 10 is €399 (approx. CA$600) for the 64GB version, €449 (approx. CA$670) for the 128GB version, and Rs. 33,000 for the 6GB/128GB version. No word on whether this phone is making its way to this side of world just yet.
