Pixel phones get Ultra HDR boost for Instagram

Google Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel Fold users can rejoice with the March feature drop. This update brings the ability to upload and view Ultra HDR photos directly on Instagram. This move follows Samsung's Galaxy S24 series, which first offered Ultra HDR photo support on Instagram. Now, Pixel owners can capture the full potential of their upgraded cameras with vibrant colours and stunning contrast. The update even extends to video, allowing users to share 10-bit HDR videos on Instagram Reels for even richer content creation.

Instagram is developing a new feature called “Your Space” for private posts

Alessandro Paluzzi / X

Instagram is reportedly developing a new feature called "Your Space," a private area within your profiles where you can post anything you want: photos, Reels, and even stories. And these won't show up on the public profile.

Alessandro Paluzzi, a leaker and reverse engineer, revealed his discovery on X (formerly Twitter). He claims users can access Your Space by scrolling down their profiles. There, they can have a different bio and profile picture than their public ones.

It's a feature bringing the concept of having a finsta (fake Instagram) or a second account into your main one. The difference is that you don't have to switch accounts. People you've given access to see Your Space will be notified, and those removed won't.

Instagram has not confirmed the existence of Your Space, but Paluzzi is confident that it will be launched soon. He says he is "almost certain" that it will work as he described it.

Instagram tests feature to let you make stickers from photos

Meta

Instagram is testing a new feature that lets you create stickers from your own or other users’ photos and use them in Reels or Stories. Unlike Meta’s AI-generated stickers, this tool is simple. It just cuts out the subject of a photo and makes it a sticker. Think of it as the sticker feature built into iOS 17's iMessage.

Adam Mosseri showed how it works in a video on his channel. He said you can also make stickers from "eligible images" on Instagram, but didn’t explain more. Maybe users can choose to share their photos as stickers. This feature is not available to everyone yet, since it’s still a test.
