Google Podcasts adds CarPlay support on iOS

Google Podcasts now supports CarPlay on iOS to make it "more easily and safely listen while you drive." It arrives as part of version 2.0 of the app's iOS version. Google Podcasts will now have a simpler interface with three tabs: Home, Explore, and Activity. The Home tab shows you new episodes of subscribed shows, Explore has recommended shows and episodes, and Activity displays your listening history, downloaded podcasts, and queued episodes. You get an option to download new episodes of podcasts you subscribe to automatically.

The update also brings with it "several bug fixes to improve performance. You can download Google Podcasts here.

Apple releases iOS 13.5 for iPhones, iPadOS 13.5, and corresponding tvOS updates

Today's the day for Apple device updates as iOS 13.5 has arrived for iPhones, iPadOS, and tvOS. The notable features include faster access to the passcode field with Face ID when people are wearing face masks. There is also an Exposure Notification API in support of COVID-19 contact tracing apps from public health authorities and apps. Installing the iPadOS update took us around 10 minutes on a 2020 iPad Pro 11. Our iPhone 8 update, however, took much longer, taking around an hour to download and install. The updates can be initiated via Software Update.

Outlook for iOS now has an 'Ignore Conversation' option

Microsoft Outlook is bringing its "Ignore Conversation" feature to both its iPhone and iPad apps, helping those who want to mute and remove irrelevant email threads from their inboxes. Desktop users of Outlook are familiar with this feature, and now if you're on iOS, you gain access to this, too. Microsoft seems to be rolling this out bit by bit, so just be patient if it hasn't made its way to you yet. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available for Android users right now.
