Dell reveals world’s first 17-inch 2-in-1 and next generation of laptops

Dell unveiled a new line of Inspiron 2-in-1s ideal for students heading back to school, aspiring entrepreneurs and families seeking an affordable solution to meet their everyday computing needs. The new devices include the Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1, the world’s first 17-inch 2-in-1 laptop. 

The latest additions to Dell’s award-winning line of innovative products are specially designed to deliver strong performance with an array of choices to meet customer needs. The refreshed 2016 Inspiron 2-in-1 lineup features a premium 7000 Series, a mainstream 5000 Series, or an entry-level 3000 Series. These new devices are available with a wide range of processor options and configurable features, enabling students, families and users.

Dell unveils small business-centered laptops

 

Dell is updating its Vostro line with two new models suited for small businesses or mobile professionals. The Vostro 14 and Vostro 15 3000 Series are powered by the newest Intel processors and discrete graphics from NVIDIA. At less than 1” thin, portability becomes a key feature of these laptops. And if understated and functional suits you, it’s available in solid black and has a micro-stripe textured cover to enhance tactility.

Processors for the Vostro 14 and 15 are available up to the 5th-generation Core i5 processors, while discrete graphics can be up to 2GB memory and up to 8GB of high-speed RAM. Other business features include an optical drive, anti-glare FHD display, Gigabit Ethernet, 10-key numeric pad (for the Vostro 15), and up to 1TB HDD storage. The Vostro 14 promises up to nine hours of battery life, while the Vostro lasts up to eight hours and 42 minutes. The prices for the Vostro 14 and 15 start at $449.

HP tipped to be develop US$199 Windows-based laptop

Microsoft wants to make sure it can take on Google’s Chromebooks and looks like HP is going to help them. A leaked document showed details about a laptop called HP Stream 14. The US$199 device will reportedly be equipped with a low-powered AMD A4 Micro processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB flash storage, and a 14-inch 1366x768 resolution screen. If you want one carrying an A10 Micro ship, 1080p touchscreen display, and 64GB of space, then you will have to shell out a bit more.

HP will also be offering 100GB OneDrive storage for two years for those who will buy this device. There isn’t any official word yet when the Stream will come out but we’re sure we are not far off from seeing this out in the wild soon.

HP introduces ultra-thin Chromebook

 

HP has unveiled a new, ultra-thin Chromebook 11 equipped with an 11.6-inch IPS panel and a Chromebook-first USB charging feature. Made in collaboration with Google, the Chromebook 11 is a 2.3 lbs. machine with a touted six-hour battery life, ARM processor, and 100GB Google Drive storage. It comes in a white with blue, red, yellow, or green accents, or traditional black form factor.
