Google reportedly plans to test out ‘Buy’ button in search results

Google is looking to take on Amazon and other retail giants with a new feature they’ll reportedly integrate in their search engine. According to The Wall Street Journal, Google plans to add a “Buy” button to sponsored search results of certain products. The company will be acting as a bridge for retailers and customers. They won’t be selling the products per se. When you click on the Buy button it’ll take you to the product page where you can make the purchase in hopes of cutting down time you need to search for a particular product.

They’re reportedly talking with Macy’s to be part of the launch of this feature. The Buy feature is said to be limited to sponsored results and it’ll initially be available to mobile and won’t be seen on desktop just yet.

Whatsapp tipped to get voice call capability

It’s not exactly a new feature but it would seem Whatsapp might be integrating it into its messaging app. Screenshots of what seem to be a new build of the app have surfaced online. It could still be in beta though as it hasn’t appeared on Google Play Store yet. It looks like there are going to be different screens for call logs, ongoing calls, and dialing a voice call. If these leaks are true, we should expect to see this in the first quarter of 2015.

Screenshots of the Samsung Gear VR Manager app surface

It’s not the easiest thing to keep a secret in tech these days. So, we’re not really surprised when leaked screenshots of Samsung’s reported VR headset have surfaced. The Gear VR is tipped to be unveiled at this year’s IFA and this time we get to see screenshots of the supposed manager app for the headset. Based on these screenshots, it looks like the Gear VR will be getting some pretty nifty features, including S-Voice compatibility, full touch capability with a touchpad, and a see-thru display (when you need it to be). Let’s hope this is legit. If we find out more, we’ll let you know.
