Boxee Box coming to Best Buy and Future Shop on Nov 10

Poised to compete in the streaming video set-top box segment, Boxee has announced that its Boxee Box will begin shipping globally on November 10. Canadians who have been looking forward to this wireless streaming media player can pre-order the $200 device from Best Buy Canada and Future Shop.

Video streaming devices have risen in popularity of late with the redesigned $119 AppleTV as well as GoogleTV boxes making their way into people's wishlists. Boxee manages web-video as well as TV shows and movies and integrates with existing home theatre systems. Boxee began as a media centre software initiative that's been realized into a standalone product with the help of D-Link. Boxee also integrates a social media aspect where users can rate  or recommend shows and programs to their friends. The Boxee Box also comes with a full complement of ports, WiFi, Ethernet and a QWERTY keyboard.

We recently covered a how-to article that focuses on installing the Boxee Beta software onto the older AppleTV since that device has all but been discontinued in favor of the smaller, newer streaming model.
