Disney moves up release of 'WandaVision' to this year

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are getting two new shows to look forward to this year. Disney moved up the release of WandaVision to this year instead of in the spring of 2021, but it hasn't specified which month it's coming out. We don't know why Disney decided to move but the release, but it will join The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will also be making its debut this year.

WandaVision will be following the relationship between Scarlet Witch and Vision post-Avengers: Endgame. The teaser images hint at a 1950s element to the show, but also, it's going to be connected to the 2021 MCU movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Disney+ shows release dates for missing MCU movies

With yesterday's launch of the Disney+ streaming service, a handful of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies have not been made available yet. Some of these are still available on rival service Netflix. But at least now we know when to expect most of them. The app's title pages for the following films display the release dates: Thor: Ragnarok will be available on December 5, 2019, Avengers: Infinity War will be available on June 25, 2020, and Ant-Man and the Wasp will be available on July 29, 2020. What we don't have information on right now are the releases of The Incredible HulkSpider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

There’s a lot to look forward to in the coming years from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the third phase done and dusted with the Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel has given us a lot to be excited about. The first one coming up is Black Widow, which will hit theatres starting May 1, 2020. It’ll star Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and O-T Fagbente. It’ll be directed by Cate Shortland. Thor 4 or Thor: Love and Thunder is coming on November 5, 2021. We already know that Taika Waititi is writing and directing the film. But now we also know that Natalie Portman is returning as Lady Thor.

Some of the surprise announcements include Blade starring Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings movie. You can check out the full list of movies and shows under the cut.

Are we getting a War Machine series for Disney+?

If this rumour pans out, it looks like Marvel hasn’t forgotten about the other guy who has donned the Iron Man suit, War Machine. His story will reportedly be told through a miniseries on Disney’s upcoming streaming service. But it’s said that this story is still in its early development stage, so we might have a bit of a wait until we get any confirmation. It’s expected that Don Cheadle will reprise his role as Col. James Rhodes. The confirmed Disney+ shows we have at this moment include WandaVision, Loki, and Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Perhaps we’ll hear more about this at Marvel’s upcoming panel at SDCC 2019.
