Taika Waititi will reportedly direct ‘Thor 4’

After the success of Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi is making a comeback to reportedly direct and write the fourth Thor film. Marvel’s win is going to be Warner’s loss as it’s being reported that he has to put his take on Akira on hold. This long-gestating adaptation of the Japanese manga was penciled in for a May 21, 2021 release. Waititi was said to be testing actors around the world for the project. But production dates for the two projects started to clash against each other, and it looks like Waititi wants to put his focus on Thor.

It doesn’t help that Warner’s project had some script development issues as well. The production company intends to keep the director involved in the film, so it’s being reported they want him to pick it up after he wraps up with Thor 4. The announcement comes at an opportune (or possibly intentional) time. With Marvel showing up at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, we can expect to hear about this project then.

Square Enix will unveil ‘Avengers’ game at E3 on June 10th

The wait has been substantial for updates on the Square Enix and Marvel Avengers game. But it seems that’s almost over… at least when it comes to hearing more about the game. The Marvel’s Avengers game will be unveiled at the developer’s E3 event, which will begin on June 10th at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET. Not much is known about what the game is about or what type of game it’ll be. Or whether it’ll tie closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the comic book universe. What we do know is that Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are still involved. The release does seem timely, though, as it comes out just a bit after Avengers: Endgame hit theatres. For those looking for that Marvel fix, this might just hit the spot.

Marvel plans to bring back Real Mandarin and the Ten Rings in future movies

Ben Kingsley played the Mandarin in 'Iron Man 3', but it was later found out in the film that he wasn't actually the villain of the film

We hear it from Marvel Studios head himself, Kevin Feige. There are plans to bring back the real Mandarin and the Ten Rings in future Marvel films. Feige mentioned this during his recent Ask Me Anything on Reddit. He confirmed that they want to follow that plot thread that was unspooled in Iron Man 3. Your guess is as good as ours where they plan to introduce the characters might pop up. But as ComicBook.com points out, one possible place they could show up is in the Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
