Nintendo won't be at E3 2023

Nintendo is the latest of the big gaming companies to bow out of E3 this year. The company said this year's show "didn't fit into our plans," so they've opted out of having a presence on the show floor. We might get a Nintendo Direct event in June, but it won't be connected with the expo.

Microsoft hasn't confirmed that it would be part of this year's show. But Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently hinted that the company plans its annual showcase in Los Angeles this summer around the same time as E3 (which runs between June 13 and 16). Meanwhile, Sony hasn't had a presence since 2018. And there are rumours it plans to host a major showcase ahead of E3.

Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo rumoured to skip E3 2023

If the reports are accurate, we won't see the big console makers at E3 2023. A new report from IGN claims Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo won't be coming to the first in-person event since 2020. Sony hasn't been part of the conference since 2019, while Microsoft said it would do a showcase in LA this summer. But the company hasn't mentioned E3 outright. While Nintendo's Direct video presentations generate enough buzz, so it might not want to share the E3 spotlight. E3 is happening from June 13 to 16, so we'll definitely hear more about the game show soon.

Microsoft will sell the Xbox Series X mini fridge this holiday 2021

We already knew Microsoft had plans to sell its Xbox Series X-shaped mini fridge, but now we get a timeline from the company. Microsoft concluded its E3 2021 showcase by saying it will release the Xbox Mini Fridge during this year's holiday 2021 season.

The company wants you to "Xbox and Chill," using its marketing key points to tease this new appliance in a trailer. For example, Microsoft mentioned things like it's the "world's most powerful mini fridge" and that it has "Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture," a play on the Xbox Series X's Velocity Architecture.

'Marvel's Avengers' to get 'War For Wakanda' expansion this August

Square Enix gave us the first proper look at a new Marvel character coming to Marvel's Avengers during its E3 Showcase. The King of Wakanda, a.k.a. the Black Panther, will join the game in a new War For Wakanda expansion. The trailer shows Black Panther defending Wakanda from Klaw, who has infiltrated his kingdom to steal Vibranium.

War For Wakanda is scheduled for an August release. It was initially supposed to launch earlier, but the release was reportedly pushed back due to the sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman. He played the superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those who own Marvel's Avengers, you'll get the expansion for free. It'll come to the PC, Playstation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
