Ubisoft releases preview of new roller derby game, ‘Roller Champions’

One of Ubisoft’s new announcements at E3 2019 is a new roller derby game called Roller Champions. And there’s a PC-only pre-alpha preview that’s playable until June 14^th. The game will launch in early 2020 on a free-to-play model. The developers describe the game as a team-based, player-versus-player sports game where the players need to work their way up from street derby leagues to championships. The pre-alpha version of the game features two arenas and six playable characters that will be grouped in teams of three.

Ubisoft teases ‘Rainbow Six Quarantine’

Ubisoft has a new Rainbow Six game called Rainbow Six Quarantine. It’s a co-op PvE spinoff to Rainbow Six Siege. Lead game designer Bio Jade calls it “a squad-based tactical shooter for three players at a time.” You will see some familiar characters in the game, but you can consider Rainbow Six Quarantine as a jumping-on point for new players. PCGamer thinks the idea behind the game is taken from the popular Outbreak mode in Siege’s Year 3.

The game is being developed by a new team inside Ubisoft Montreal, who are the developers of Rainbow Six Siege. You don’t get to see gameplay in the teaser above, but the developers have high hopes for Quarantine. “What Siege is to the PvP shooter genre, we will be to PvE co-op,” it said. The game is coming out in early 2020, but you can sign up to receive updates and possibly play an early beta here.

Arkane previews new game ‘Deathloop’

“If at first you don’t succeed… die, die again.” This rather witty catchphrase comes from a new game being developed by the studio behind the Dishonored series and Prey. Arkane showed off the trailer for Deathloop at Bethesda’s E3 press conference. It follows two assassins called “The Captain” and “Jules” who are locked in a constant battle trying to kill each other as well as their targets. As the title suggests, the characters are stuck in some time loop in a mysterious island called Blackreef. The trailer above gives us the feel for the game, but not much else is known beyond that. The game is being developed at Arkane’s Lyon studio and it’s expected to deliver a “mind-bending story” with “meticulously designed levels” that the studio is known for creating. We don’t have a target release date for it either, but we’re hoping to hear more soon.

‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ will come out on March 3, 2020

Just ahead of Square Enix’s E3 keynote, the game developer dropped the release date and a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake. The game is set to launch on the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020. What isn’t clear at the moment is whether this will be the full game. FFVII Remake was originally said to have an episodic release. According to a tweet from Square Enix Director Tetsuya Nomura, we will hear more about the game at Square Enix’s E3 event. The keynote kicks off on June 10^th at 9PM ET / 6PM PT.
