Square Enix will unveil ‘Avengers’ game at E3 on June 10th

The wait has been substantial for updates on the Square Enix and Marvel Avengers game. But it seems that’s almost over… at least when it comes to hearing more about the game. The Marvel’s Avengers game will be unveiled at the developer’s E3 event, which will begin on June 10th at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET. Not much is known about what the game is about or what type of game it’ll be. Or whether it’ll tie closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the comic book universe. What we do know is that Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are still involved. The release does seem timely, though, as it comes out just a bit after Avengers: Endgame hit theatres. For those looking for that Marvel fix, this might just hit the spot.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is the longest movie Marvel will release

Marvel Studios is making sure it packs in all it pack into Avengers: Infinity War. It is set to be the longest movie Marvel has released clocking in at two hours and 36 minutes, at least according to AMC Theatres’ website. This doesn’t come as a surprise with the film becoming the culmination of every MCU movie for the past decade. It tops Captain America: Civil War, which clocked in at two hours and 27 minutes, and is even five minutes longer than Batman v Superman.

Marvel teases Avengers: Infinity War as the culmination of the MCU

The MCU, or Marvel Cinematic Universe, kicked off when the first Iron Man hit screens in 2008 and is going to hit its peak during Avengers: Infinity War. Coming in 2018, the film will not only team-up various heroes, it will team-up The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy plus other characters like Dr. Strange and Spide-Man. The Russo Brothers helmed epic is expected to be a blockbuster but some are worried that having over a dozen heroes and scores of villains might be too much to handle. Captain America: Civil War was a thrill ride but it already felt busy, this is an Avengers movie, and one that's going to be on an even larger scale (hopefully better than the mediocre Age of Ultron).

Marvel isn’t splitting ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ into two films

Disney/Marvel

Marvel is finally hearing our gripes about this whole two-part movie trend that has been happening since Harry Potter decided to split its final film into a two-part film. The upcoming Avengers film will still be coming out on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 but it won’t be two parts of the same story. The film coming out in 2018 will still be Avengers: Infinity War but the second film drops the Infinity War – Part II moniker. We don’t know yet what it’ll be called (right now it's just Avengers Untitled) but we’re relieved that it won’t be just the continuation of what is in Infinity War. Of course, knowing Marvel there will be a central story running through them. But we welcome the change.
