Microsoft Surface 3 loaded with family fun

By Sonya Davidson

We decided to stay home this past March Break while many of our friends had vacated to the ski hills out west or visited sunny destinations to the south. I figured it wasn't really THAT bad of a winter anyway and sometimes, a few days at home rediscovering the city (and a visit to grandparents) is just as much fun!

We filled up the week with fun things to do with the kids. We agreed to take part in the Microsoft Surface Scavenger Hunt. It sounded like an great idea because we definitely love scavenger hunt! In fact, when we go on a vacation, we often log into the global scavenger hunt Geocaching app as part of our adventures (if you haven't heard of it... Google it). It's quite the phenomenon!

Microsoft celebrates women inventors, awareness on International Women's Day

While the gender gap is still a huge issue of debate and one that the World Economic Forum predicts won't be solved until 2133, many fields including STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) continue to struggle with enabling equal pay and benefits to women.

Microsoft is celebrating International Women's Day by raising awareness and calling girls around the workd to #MakeWhatsNext. A longtime supporter of enabling girls to code early as well as get the inspiration and training to become the best they can be.

New Windows 10 ads take aim at OS X's lack of multi-touch, voice assistant

The PC/Mac wars are on again. After the past holiday feel goodery of that "Let there be peace on earth," ad, Microsoft is brandishing a series of TV spots that throw OS X under the bus for not having features expected of a 'modern OS.' The features in the series of ads which aim to make Windows 10 cooler and more useful are multi-touch and the Cortana voice assistant. Microsoft has dropped the gauntlet and Apple will likely respond sooner than later, we'll have to see if any of the March 21 announcements will offer an answer to Microsoft's new taunts. It's on!
