Nokia considers the Lumia 2520 as the mullet of tablets

Nokia has just released what could be one of the strangest but somewhat fitting ads for its Lumia 2520 tablet. The Finnish brand is likening the Lumia 2520 as a “work and play” device, which is much like the mullet hairstyle of decades past a.k.a. business in front and party at the back. Watch the clip above and judge for yourself whether it’s weird or a stroke of genius.

Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 reportedly moving from capacitive to virtual buttons

The upcoming Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 update is reportedly introducing big changes next year. Among them is the use of virtual buttons instead of capacitive buttons for the Back, Home, and Search options. This refresh will help OEMs to repurpose some of their Android devices to Windows Phone and perhaps introduce a whole slew of new smartphones.

Skype updates Android app for tablets to allow multitasking while on video/audio calls

Microsoft updates the Skype for Android tablets to allow users to continue video or audio calls while they use other apps on the tablet. There is no word yet about whether they plan to bring the feature to smartphones. The tech company also improved video instant messaging capabilities and remedied bugs on various Samsung phones at the Nexus 5 device.

Microsoft reportedly negotiating $1 billion deal with Samsung to continue manufacturing Windows Phone devices

 

Ubergizmo reports that Microsoft is reportedly offering $1 billion to Samsung for it to resume developing Windows Phone devices. While the device manufacturer has created a lot of Android devices, there are but a handful of Windows Phone gadgets from Samsung. This rumoured deal might change that, if it pushes through.
