Motoring: Toyota recalls 2.2 million vehicles due to risk of unintended acceleration

Just when things were picking up for Toyota, the carmaker has had to issue another recall affecting 2.2 million vehicles to replace the floor mats, which may get caught on the accelerator and cause gas pedals to stick. Toyota's full release follows after the jump.

Motoring: Top Safety Pick awards given to 66 2011 vehicles

When all is said and done, safety is the prime consideration when choosing a new or used vehicle. Sixty-six 2011 vehicles have earned the Top Safety Pick award from the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), including 40 cars, 25 SUVs and one minivan. Hit jump for the winners.

Motoring: Jaguar launches iPad and iPhone apps

Jaguar has launched an all-new iPad application to mark the presentation of the stunning C-X75 hybrid super car. The C-X75 turned heads last month and was the most applauded concept vehicle in the Paris Motor Show.

The C-X75 is brought to life in the application through the use of exclusive imagery, videos and interviews with the people behind it, including design director Ian Callum and head of research Tony Harper.

The application is available for free download from the iTunes store by searching for “Jaguar 75 HD.” For iPhone, a version is available exclusively designed for the smaller device.
