Sony debuts 10.1-inch Xperia Z2 tablet

The Sony Xperia Z2 tablet doesn’t want to be left behind the powerful Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone that debuted at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This new 10.1-inch tablet features a 1920x1200 resolution display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. It also comes with an 8.1-megapixel rear camera, digital noise cancellation, 6.4mm thin body, and waterproof and dust resistant at IPX5/IPX8. The tablet will be launched around the world this March.

Lenovo debuts three mid-range Android smartphones at MWC

Lenovo S660

Lenovo brought three mid-range devices at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona—the S660, S850, and S860. The phones all come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, dual-SIM capability, and 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. The devices should be out on the market by June but whether they will be available in the region is yet to be seen.

Nokia launches 5 new smartphones at MWC, including forked Android device line

Exciting news for Nokia fans in emerging markets, the company has revealed five new models highlighted by three Android powered smartphones released under its Nokia X line. Likely developed before Microsoft acquired Nokia, the models are The Nokia X is the entry-level model in the family, will cost €89, and is available immediately. The Nokia X+ offers more memory and storage for those who want to enjoy even more music, photos and video. It’s priced at €99 and will be available in early Q2 2014 and the Nokia XL packs a 5-inch screen, 5MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing camera, great for Skype video calls. It will be priced at €109 and be available in early Q2 2014.

Huawei enters wearable tech market with TalkBand

Huawei debuts its own version of a smartwatch at MWC with the TalkBand. The wearable device features a more colorful form factor meant to appeal to a younger set of users. The device functions both as a Bluetooth headset and smartband/smartwatch. You can take out the Bluetooth headset to make a call and put it back to act as a smartwatch. While it doesn’t look to have touchscreen functionality, the device is controlled by an accompanying app.

The TalkBand features a curved 1.4-inch OLED screen, IP57 water and dust resistance, and a wristband that also works as a USB connector. The device will carry a €99 price tag.
