Sony takes the slow approach to smartphone charging

Fast charging is an excellent feature, particularly when you’re in a hurry. But with it comes the dangers of extreme wear and tear, especially if the charger isn’t certified. The heat produced when you’re charging quickly can shorten your smartphone battery’s life span. To extend the life of its batteries further, Sony has introduced Soft Charging in the beta version of the Marshmallow AOSP update for the “classics” Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3. What it does is it “slows down” charging to keep the temperature of the battery as cool as possible. You can activate soft charging with its own on/off toggle.

Sony officially brings PS4 Remote Play to Xperia Z2

Sony Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet tipped to get PS4 Remote Play feature

It would make perfect sense if the six-month-old Sony Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet get the PlayStation 4 Remote Play feature. And if the slip up by Sony is any indication, we might be seeing it soon. The XperiaBlog found on the Xperia Lounge app mentions the Sony devices that will support the gaming feature when it comes out next month. Aside from the new Z3 devices, it would seem the Z2 and Z2 Tablet will be getting it, too. XperiaBlog believes this is part of the rumoured Android 4.4.4 update for the Z2 gadgets. We have to wait a bit more to see if there is any truth to this report.
