Google Assistant comes to Android TV, starts with NVIDIA Shield

We have more Google Assistant news tonight. This time, the service is finally making its way to Android TV. But it’s currently limited to the NVIDIA Shield TV with Sony’s Android TV-powered Bravia televisions getting the sizeable update for it “in the coming months.” What Google brings to the TV is similar to what you get on other platforms but have some TV-specific tweaks. It’ll let you ask general questions, which it’ll answer on screen, play music, search YouTube, ask for specific content from apps like Netflix, look up photos from Google Photos, control your smart home devices, among many others.

‘Resident Evil 5’ comes to the NVIDIA SHIELD

Resident Evil 5 might be a seven-year-old game but if it appeals to you to play a classic game on the NVIDIA SHIELD, you should get downloading now. RE5 was one of the more graphically-intensive games to come out back in 2009 with full 3D rendering and over-the-shoulder shooting gameplay. It wouldn’t pose a problem for the 256-core Maxwell GPU of the NVIDIA SHIELD, though. The game is a hefty download at 5.5GB. You shouldn’t have a problem with it if you got the 250GB model but the 16GB model might cause some issues and some storage gymnastics. You can get the game for a discounted price of US$9.99 (around CA$13) but it should come up to its suggested retail price of US$15 (around CA$19) in the future. It also won’t work yet on other Android devices aside from the NVIDIA SHIELD.
