Square Enix to bring 'Outriders' to Stadia on Apr. 1
Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 10:32PM In an unusual yet welcomed move, Square Enix will release its upcoming action RPG-shooter on Google Stadia at the same time as it is released on other platforms. Outriders will hit the game streaming service alongside the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 1. And we can confidently say it is not an April Fool's joke.
We aren't sure why developer People Can Fly and Square Enix changed their minds, but we're happy for Stadia users who'll get to play the game on the platform as soon as it launches on other devices. Stadia typically gets games a few months after they are released on other platforms. It's also good news for Google as it gives them parity with its rivals, especially since it closed its first-party studios.
