Netflix ad sales chief departs after 18 months, company bullish on ad growth

Peter Naylor, who spearheaded Netflix's foray into advertising, is leaving the company after a year and a half. Netflix will look to fill the role with a new head of U.S. and Canada ad sales, focusing on a regional approach.

"Peter’s enthusiasm, industry knowledge and relationships have been invaluable in getting our advertising business off the ground. I want to thank him for all he has done to build our team, grow the business and position Netflix for success," said Amy Reinhard, Netflix's president of advertising.

McCarthy's efforts included significant cost-cutting measures like job reductions and outsourcing, a leadership overhaul, and a strategic shift towards fitness services over hardware sales. However, these maneuvers proved unsuccessful.

'Halo' lead Joseph Staten leaves Microsoft

Joseph Staten, the head of creative on Halo Infinite and cinematic director on the first three Halo games, is leaving Microsoft. The company confirmed his departure, but it didn't mention where he was headed nor why he left Microsoft after nine years.

Staten took to Twitter to comment on IGN's report, saying, "Hey folks, I am indeed leaving Microsoft. I'll have more info to share soon, but for now, I'd just like to thank all my Xbox colleagues for all their understanding and support as I embark on a new adventure."
